This tough mountain stage starts with Col des Saisies, followed by les Aravis and la Colombiere, before the final eleven km ascent to Plateau de Solaison.
Stage seven, from Aoste to Alpe d'Huez, avoids the usual hairpins as the riders take a route up the Col de Sarenne before tackling the final four kilometres of the legendary climb.
Stage six is big day in the mountains, ending on the Mont du Chat, a climb 9 km long with an average gradient exceeding 10 per cent before a treacherous descent to the finish.
